In Landing on Feathers, 3 care workers and artists share their perspectives on embodied care-practices from a personal and collective experience.
In May 2021 choreographers and performers Jija Sohn and Aleksandra Lemm, with researcher and dramaturge Julia Reist, began a creative research trajectory in collaboration with visual artist Elmer Kouwenberg, whose body has been paralyzed due to a car accident 28 years ago.
With their project, Jija, Aleksandra and Nica Roses who's also a performer and caregiving team of Elmer take the audience to witness an exploration between their training in dance as well as the physicality of their engagement as Elmer's caregiving team.
Within the practice, limitations are not simply experienced but deeply acknowledged throughout the trajectory, as an intrinsic part of the practice. Their intention is to invite you to experience what belongs to daily life through a participatory practice, within a theatre landscape, to taste the ordinary in an extraordinary way together.
